IT was a day of mixed results for the Gatton Hawks on Sunday, with one win and two losses against the Northern Suburbs Tigers.
In A grade the Hawks entered the field of play fired up but the poor weather conditions soon put a damper
The Hawks poor ball control resulted into a lack of possession which kept the boys on the defensive line for large amounts of time.
Despite needing to defend their line for most of the match, the Hawks worked hard and showed positive signs for the 2010 season.
Paul Shepley, Aaron Werth, Jayden Lund and Chris Dodt were tireless and never gave up.
In the end the Tigers were too good for the Hawks, winning 36-18. Tries were scored by Aaron Werth, Chris Brown and Paul Shepley.
Reserve Grade were the shining light for the club with a 26-14 victory.
Tries were scored by Andrew Bromley, Chris Ryan and Beau White (3).
The Under 18s started the match well but were eventual rundown 40-24.
Poor ball security and conditions were tough but Beau White was great for the Hawks as he showed great speed down the wing.
Sam George also had an outstanding game. Tries were scored by Beau White (2), Sam Stanley and Sam George.
