A NUMBER of Esk residents turned out to enjoy a cup of billy tea and a slice of fresh baked damper on March 5 as the community prepares for Easter.
The special event was all part of promoting Easter Monday Funday (EMF) as Brisbane resident Peter Lane displayed by cycling from Brisbane to Esk on March 5.
After his six hour ride from Brisbane he enjoyed some billy tea and damper with Neville (seated left) and Pastor Firrell, at the Stepping Stones Community Centre, Heal Street, Esk.
Pastor Sid Firrell of the Assemblies of God Church, Esk is encouraging his congregation to help at the 19th Annual EMF in Queens Park, Ipswich from 10am – 4 pm on Monday, April 5.
EMF attracts up to 15,000 people for a totally free day of fun, food, children’s activities, Gospel music, evangelism and a healing ministry to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ
Neville Sharpe, a member Pastor Firrell’s flock, will definitely be on hand this year to make his billy tea and damper for hundreds of people at EMF as well as other community functions.
EMF needs volunteers to help prepare food, supervise children’s activities, entertain, do security or practical jobs to make the day a success.
