The automatic opening of Gate 3 (middle) on Lenthall Dam yesterday signalled another red letter day for Wide Bay Water.
SOUTHEAST Queensland dams are at their highest level in a decade, with all but one now overflowing after heavy rain.
At 10am (AEST) on Thursday the combined Wivenhoe, Somerset and North Pine dams were at 84.4 per cent - up more than 10 per cent since last Friday.
The dams are due be further topped up with more rain expected over the weekend.
Wivenhoe was at 76.5 per cent, with its levels being boosted by releases from the overflowing Somerset Dam.
The Somerset catchment received 13mm in the 24 hours to 9am Thursday and 195mm in the past seven days.
North Pine Dam is at 100 per cent capacity after almost 200mm of rain in the past seven days.
The Gold Coast's Hinze Dam has been overflowing for more than two weeks.
Lake Baroon Pocket on the Sunshine Coast is overflowing, having received 328mm in the past week.
The region's irrigator dams have also been boosted, with two at their highest levels in over a decade.
