THE first of the finals for the Lockyer competition was held last week. In the under 16s grand final, Southern Lockyer played Helidon at Ropehill.

Helidon batting well on the first day, making 194 from their 50 overs thanks to solid performances from Ethan Simpson (44) and Ryan Watson (29).

In reply Southern Lockyer made a slow start but reached the total for the loss of only three wickets with 10 overs to go. Ben Webster (85 not out) and Josh Raddatz (62) were again the stars, helping Southern Lockyer to an undefeated premiership.
