LOCKYER High travelled to Centenary Heights on Friday night to play the second round of the St Mary’s Old Boys High School Basketball Competition.
The Lockyer High Team won one match for the evening.
The Open girls team played good attacking basketball to defeat Centenary Heights 40-9.
However that was the only joy for the evening with the other three Lockyer sides all suffering defeats.
The Under 15 girls side lost to a very well drilled Centenary Heights team 55-18 while the Under 15 boys were in the game until the last quarter when a lack of reserves saw them run out of puff and lose in a good match 50-28.
The Open boys team were simply outgunned by a much bigger, faster and very well drilled Centenary Heights team to lose by 88 -11.
To Lockyer’s credit though they never gave up until the final hooter.
Next week Lockyer travels to Harristown High stadium to take on Pittsworth and Fairholme in the third week of the competition.
