Laidley on board for charity rodeo

THE Lockyer Valley Rodeo Committee will present the Laidley Charity Rodeo on October 31 at the Laidley Showgrounds in support of Angel Flight Australia.

Local volunteer group, the Mulgowie Rural Fire Brigade, will be manning the gate and rattling their donation tins for the great course throughout the afternoon.

The Laidley/Walloon Quarter Horse Kids Club and the Laidley Lions Junior League Club will be lending their time to the food stalls which will boast a range of great snacks and drinks.

The locally run rodeo is National Rodeo Association Affiliated and will open at 3pm with main performances beginning at about 6pm.

The full rodeo spectacular will include eight open events, not forgetting the junior rodeo-goers with three events for young competitors to choose from including the poddy-ride.

Open events include the bullride, saddle bronc ride, bare back ride, steer wrestling, rope and tie, team roping, ladies breakaway roping and ladies barrel race.

Gill Bros will be supplying some of the countries best bulls and horses with Marcus Jones lending the timed event cattle.

Entry is Adults $12, Pensioners/Students $6 and family of two Adults/2 Children $30. Children under 12 enter free.
