WITHCOTT residents living near a mushroom growing complex on Gatton Creek Road will be given a forum to air their concerns about the unapproved business this evening.
Neighbour, Cam McDonald, said he has been severely affected by the composting process which dilutes the air quality on his property.
“Usually the compost arrives already done, but this time they started their own,” Mr McDonald said, adding he was confined to his home and was unable to open any doors or windows.
“Many of the adjoining blocks thought the smell was from leaking sceptic systems.”
The Environmental Protection Agency has been brought in to try and conduct an investigation into the smell which could contain high amounts of toxic ammonia.
Mr McDonald called all residents who were concerned to attend a meeting which will be held this evening (October 7) at the CWA Hall, Withcott at 7.30pm.
