THE schools Our Lady of Good Counsel and Peace Lutheran Primary commemorated Queensland's 150th birthday on Thursday, June 25.
Queensland's 150th celebrates New South Wales and Queensland forming separate colonies in Australia.
Many events have been structured in the result of festivity such as the Q150 Steam Train Rides.
Performing Australian songs and dances, Peace Lutheran Primary students sang 'Click Go the Shears' and boogied to the 'Heel Toe Polka'.
Eight lucky students received gift vouchers from Dip'n Dots ice-cream store for outstanding performances in music with staff.
Our Lady Good Counsel children enjoyed the day with activities designed to explore what Australia was like so long ago by cooking damper, colonial and indigenous dancing and learning about devices which are no longer used today.
Each school encouraged their students to arrive wearing old-fashioned clothing to bring atmosphere to the event.
