Supercheap Auto roars into Gatton
CONSTRUCTION is underway to transform the historic Baileys building that was once the biggest clothing store in the Lockyer Valley.
After the Baileys lettering of the sign came down it marked the end of an era in the Gatton community.
But a new era is dawning for the site on the corner of North and Railway Streets, as it is gradually remoulded into a Supercheap Auto store.
With refurbishments nearly completed, Supercheap Auto is set to open its doors on Saturday, December 18, and locals can expect some exclusive specials.
Store Manager of the new store, Kris Eden, said locals could expect big sales and Gatton-only specials as part of the store opening celebrations, such as an extended catalogue sale.
“The opening of the Supercheap Auto Gatton store coincides with the ‘Last Minute Christmas Gift Hints' catalogue, and this store will be the only one in Australia to have an extended sales period running from December 18 to 24,” Kris Eden said.
“On top of this, there will be exclusive $1 giveaways as part of the grand opening celebrations, together with a free barbecue held by the Lions Club.”
Kris said he believed locals would be impressed with the store layout, design and range of products available within the 700m{+2} store, which will be very similar to what is currently on offer in the Toowoomba store.
“Supercheap Auto prides itself on the breadth, quality and value of its product offering – with everything from automotive parts and accessories, GPS units, tools for the shed and even camping gear, our new-look Gatton store has something for everyone,” he said.
“Our team have also worked hard to refresh the store while keeping the structural integrity of the building intact, because although it is not heritage listed we understand the appeal of the building like all Gatton locals.”
The new store is located at 43 Railway Street, Gatton.
