Qantas tops cancellations for July

REGIONAL Express (Rex) airlines was the most prompt airline operating regional flights around Australian in July, figures released on Tuesday show.

The Bureau of Transport, Infrastructure and Regional Economies released its monthly domestic airline on time performance report on Tuesday.

The data shows Rex had the best on-time performance, with 81% of its flights leaving on time, closely followed by Virgin Australia ATR-F100 operation at 80.9%.

These two regional airlines were followed by Skywest, with 78.6% of flights leaving on time and QantasLink at 72.1%.

QantasLink also had the highest level of cancellations during July, at 4.1% of all flights, followed by Tiger Airways at 2.1% and Virgin Australia at 2%.
