BRETT Morris knew the good news as soon as he saw Ricky Stuart's name flashing up on his mobile.
The Dragons fullback has been chosen to replace Akuila Uate on the wing for NSW in Origin III, Uate paying the price for some costly defensive errors and mistakes under the high ball in Games I and II.
As expected, Stuart named Manly back-rower Glenn Stewart in the squad to give him every chance of taking the field for the series decider at Suncorp Stadium on July 4.
Stewart suffered a medial ligament tear against the Storm last Monday night and had his leg in a brace for the rest of the week.
"Glenn deserves every opportunity to make himself available and that's why I picked him," Stuart said, adding he was prepared to wait until the day of the game to make a final call.
As insurance, Stuart also named Manly's Tony Williams and the Dragons' Beau Scott in his squad as cover for Stewart, the coach saying he had been very impressed with the efforts by Williams in his side's 52-14 win against the Roosters yesterday.
"I thought he was very instrumental to Manly in a number of areas, not just the try assists but some parts of his game where he took some tough rucks," Stuart said.
