MasterChef dream over for Ben

ANDY Allen is the last man standing on MasterChef after his best mate Ben Milbourne was eliminated tonight.

The judges were forced to find the tiniest of faults after the Top 5 plated up five tasty beef dishes for special guest, MasterChef UK judge John Torode.

"The judges said there was no real strong theme in the dish, which was spot on," Milbourne said.

"Through the whole challenge I didn't know what I wanted to do, so I made a tasting plate. That was my one little mistake."

Milbourne backs his best mate, with whom he plans to travel to Mexico, although he admits Allen faces some serious competition from the three remaining women.

"I think out of everyone in the competition he's improved the most," he said.

"He's hitting his straps at the right time. My heart says he's probably a chance, but going with my head Mindy (Woods) is still the favourite."

Woods and fellow Brisbane resident Julia Taylor face one final hurdle tomorrow night to secure a spot in the Top 3 for Wednesday's grand final.

A Queenslander has yet to win the reality cooking series.

Tomorrow night, the Top 4 have 90 minutes to cook one of Australia's best chef's signature dishes, and they have only 15 minutes to consult with their chefs.

MasterChef airs tomorrow at 7pm and the grand final airs Wednesday at 7pm on Ten.
