Major new coal discovery

AN exploration company has made a substantial coal discovery in south-west Queensland.

International Coal Limited has announced it inferred 728 million tonnes of thermal coal at its South Blackall project, near Charleville.

In a shareholder announcement, company director David Round stated the company was well placed to become a leading developer of coal resources in the Eromanga Basin region.

Mr Round said the company was looking at infrastructure opportunities in the South Blackall area.
