THE teen pulled from a house fire at Laidley yesterday has been placed into an induced coma.

The McNeish family, who lost their home in Cooper Street, issued a statement earlier today.

They said 14-year-old Sarah is currently in a serious condition with severe burns to her lower body.

"Due to extreme smoke inhalation, Sarah's lungs are the key priority and she will remain in an induced coma for at least ten days to allow time for her lungs to recover," the statement said.

Sarah's school, Faith Lutheran College at Plainland, has opened an account for anyone wishing to financially support the family.

"We thank you for your many offers of donations of household and other items. At this time the family have informed us that they would like us to hold off collecting items on their behalf until they can advise us of what they require," Faith Lutheran College said.

"The family request the only support they require at this immediate time is prayers of healing for Sarah and also prayers for Gary, Linda, Andrew and Matthew to find inner strength, peace and courage."

Investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing.
