Gatton's shining lights are chosen
THE Gatton Show Society proudly announced its 2012 Gatton Miss Showgirl and Rural Ambassador at the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre last week.
After displaying a range of qualities judged perfect for the role, 23-year-old Kylie Jackson was crowned as winner of the 2012 Gatton Miss Showgirl.
Also announced on the night and displaying the rural characteristics required of the position, Simon Bird claimed the 2012 Rural Ambassador title.
Both the Gatton Showgirl and Rural Ambassador will travel to Rosewood to represent the region at the West Moreton and Brisbane Valley regional finals on July 14.
Both winners will be heavily involved at the Gatton Show, handing out ribbons and escorting dignitaries around plus many other responsibilities.
Gatton Show Society president Keith Edwards said the 2012 Gatton Show was looking set to be bigger and better than ever, with a large amount of interest shown, plus a massive line-up of entertainment on offer.
"Our night program is sure to have everything for all ages, and the whole grounds will be packed with things to see and do," he said.
"So please come along and support and enjoy our 96th Gatton Show."
The Gatton Show will be held on July 20 and 21.
