Force wait on Cheika
THE Western Force was hoping to unveil Michael Cheika as their new Super Rugby coach this week.
They might have too wait a while longer - if at all - to say a deal has been done.
Cheika, who led Leinster to becoming club champions of Europe in 2009 by winning the Heineken Cup, is thought to have rejected the initial deal to replace Richard Graham.
Graham quit Perth for the Queensland Reds mid-season.
It is believed the Force is still in discussions with Cheika, who has been the head coach of French Top 14 side Stade Français for the past two years.
Others interested in the job are former Wales coach and current Scotland assistant Scott Johnson and ex-Ireland and USA coach Eddie O'Sullivan.
Former Force foundation assistant coach John Mulvihill was also thought to be in the running and if he got the job, he could be the key to retaining captain and Wallabies star flanker David Pocock.
Pocock's contract runs out at the end of the year, with the Brumbies and Rebels in hot pursuit.
