Ban could end Minichiello's season

ROOSTERS full-back Anthony Minichiello may have to wait until next season to celebrate his 250th NRL match after being handed a grade three striking charge by the Match Review Committee.

Minichiello was sent off late in his 248th NRL match against Canberra on Sunday after a high shot on opposite number Josh Dugan.

An early guilty plea would see Minichiello miss the final two matches of the season.

If he decided to fight the charge at the judiciary and lost he would miss the next three games.

Storm forward Bryan Norrie was given a grade-one dangerous contact charge for a 69th-minute hit on Brisbane's Sam Thaiday on Friday night and would be free to play this week with an early guilty plea.
