Aussie BMX stars pedal way to top of world rankings for 2012

AUSSIE pedallers Sam Willoughby and Caroline Buchanan have both finished the year ranked No.1 in the world after the culmination of the American series in Oklahoma last weekend.

Willoughby took out the American series for the second time after finishing second in every race.

Buchanan came into the final race of the series equal first on points, but had to settle for second overall behind five-time winner, American Domenique Daniels.

The pair's achievements contributed to Australia being ranked the No.1 BMX nation in the world.

Buchanan will contest three mountain bike races in Australia next month.
